SUMMARY
This position is responsible to cut specialized paper for the manufacturing process.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to use measuring devises (tape measure, micrometer).
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and drawings specifications.
- Must have knowledge of operation and maintenance of equipment and hand tools, such as bandsaws.
- Must be able to be certified as a FORKLIFT OPERATOR and OVERHEAD CRANE OPERATOR.
- Must be willing to work in other departments on a temporary basis as assigned by the manager.
- Must be available to work all shifts – days, afternoons, midnights (Mandatory).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Measure, space, and set saw blades, cutters according to product specifications.
- Mount attachments or tools onto production equipment.
- Set equipment controls to meet cutting specifications.
- Place rolls of paper or cardboard on machine feed tracks, and thread paper through gluing, coating, and slitting rollers.
- Load materials into production equipment.
- Feed materials or products into or through equipment.
- Cut products to specified dimensions, using hand or power cutters.
- Cut industrial materials in preparation for fabrication or processing.
- Adjust guide assemblies, forming bars, and folding mechanisms according to specifications, using hand tools.
- Set equipment guides, stops, spacers, or other fixtures.
SKILLS:
- Ability to achieve and maintain required productivity levels in a dynamic and challenging environment by effectively organizing, prioritizing, and executing tasks.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Capable of performing physical job requirements with ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and consistently reach, bend, sit, stand and climb.
- Reliable, punctual, and positive team-player who is adaptable, open minded, enthusiastic, and takes initiative.
- Previous knowledge and experience with 5S and Lean Manufacturing considered an asset.
