Carte is looking for a Quality Engineer to take our company to new heights. As part of our Quality Assurance team, you must have excellent trouble shooting skills and a proven ability to ensure processes and products consistently meet established quality standards. This position will provide Quality Assurance support to Operations and Engineering, to achieve optimal quality, productivity, and safety with a focus on improving customer satisfaction.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Quality, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial engineering.
- Registered or eligible for registration with Engineering Geoscientists of Manitoba (EGM) (Engineer In Training (EIT) or P. Eng. preferred).
- Minimum two (2) years previous Quality assurance/engineering experience and demonstrated use of Quality tools/methodologies in SO9001:2015 system, internal audits and internal auditor.
- Effectively present information to individuals and in group situations (customers, and employees).
- Advanced computer skills, including statistical/data analysis and report writing skills (MS Office Excel, PP)
- Experience in the use of an ERP system considered an asset.
- Time/priority management skills to meet or exceed targets while managing multiple projects.
- Excellent interpersonal, teambuilding and customer service skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with manufacturing, purchasing and product engineering to achieve quality initiatives, protect product design intent and functions.
- Present QA System to internal and external auditors. Investigate and resolve system nonconformances and concerns (defined during internal and external audits).
- Work with internal teams to increase customer satisfaction by improving the quality of the products. Recommend solutions through root cause analysis, with emphasis on data collection, analysis and reporting.
- Conduct internal process audits based on ISO9001:2015 quality management systems. Document results and findings from inspections and investigations.
- Maintain the internal QMS to ensure it conforms to ISO 9001 latest requirements. Audit systems based on ISO 9001:2015 requirements
- Determine quality KPI metrics for all manufacturing procedures
- Investigate production and customer concerns using practical problem-solving reports and other advanced problem-solving techniques.
- Develop and produce quality metrics, reports, trend charts.
- Implement and control designated quality, technical forms, and documentation.
- Inspect and/or test materials, equipment, processes, and products to meet quality specifications.
- Collaborate to create solutions for identified problems.
- Coordinate, facilitate, with external auditors to ensure compliance.
- Investigate and troubleshoot vendor materials, process, and performance.
- Develop standard operating procedures, corrective actions, and solutions for improvements.
- Review codes, specifications, and processes.
- Conduct audits of supplier quality systems, participate in supplier approval process, verify ongoing supplier compliance.
- Support quality goals, objectives and activities to identify, explain and resolve quality issues.
SKILLS:
- Strong verbal and written communications, to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization
- Strong presentation, project management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable and positive team-player who is adaptable, open minded, enthusiastic, and takes initiative.
- Knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing considered an asset.
