Carte International is looking for a Human Resources Coordinator to join and support the Human Resources team on a full-time basis. The HR Coordinator is client-focused and resourceful with the proven ability to multi-task while demonstrating a strong sense of urgency. They use creativity, attention to detail and professionalism to bring ideas to improve administrative processes and efficiency to the team. What you’ll do

  • Support the recruitment process by sourcing and pre-screening candidates, utilizing various internal and external sources including websites, organizations, and partnerships, distribute resumes, coordinate interviews for various departments and positions, administer appropriate assessments, and perform employment and reference checks and develop job announcements.
  • Schedule and conduct new hire orientation and onboarding processes, ensure all forms and documents are completed, aid in their adjustment to their new job, to the organization, and to other employees.
  • Manage human resource records by keeping accurate, up to date employee files including contracts, and performance reviews.
  • Assist the HR Manager in advising managers on legal compliance issues including Employment Standards Act, Workers Compensation Act and Human Rights Code legislation.
  • Provide input and support towards the development and implementation of new Human Resources initiatives, programs, and processes.
  • Uphold a culture of respect, fairness, and diversity in the workplace and support the achievement of our diversity and inclusion goals.
  • Attend job fairs, compile recruitment statistics and information, work on special HR projects, and perform various other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure HR processes & procedures are consistently followed and communicated.
  • Keep employee handbook up to date by making revisions as new policies and procedures come into effect.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee issues.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in human resources.
  • Minimum of 2 years HR related experience.
  • CPHR or working towards designation.
  • Knowledge of current employment legislations.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills,  able to handle rapidly shifting priorities as well as multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong technical writing ability with demonstrated experience writing, developing, and implementing work instructions, processes, and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills to work closely with all levels of the organization and coordinate work with other appropriate stakeholder groups.
  • Self-motivated – strong time management and prioritization skills coupled with the ability to work independently and in an organized manner.
  • Proficient in the use of a computer and computer software programs: Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint),
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and tact.
  • Labour relations skills and experience working in a unionized environment.
