SUMMARY
This position is responsible to perform machine work processes in order to create precision parts for the manufacturing process.
REUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and drawing specifications.
Must have knowledge of operation and maintenance of equipment and hand tools, such as bandsaws.
Previous sheer machine operation or similar, relevant experience in manufacturing facility is an asset.
Must be able to be certified as an OVERHEAD CRANE OPERATOR.
Must adhere to all Safety and Health policies and procedures.
Must be available to work all shifts – days, afternoons, midnights (mandatory)
RESPONSIBILITIES
Set up, calibrate, and maintain machinery and machine tools as needed.
Align, and place tools, cutters, guides and stops correctly in the machine.
Operate machinery and equipment according to instructions.
Operate press brakes, sheers, punches and power hand tools.
Verify dimensions of parts using precise measuring instruments (e.g. micrometers, calipers).
Start and adjust machinery when necessary to improve performance.
Clean machinery.
Maintain cleanliness in the work area.
Comply with all company policies, procedures and safety and health regulations.
SKILLS
Ability to achieve and maintain required productivity levels in a dynamic and challenging environment by effectively organizing, prioritizing and executing tasks.
Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
Demonstrated analytical, problem – solving and decision making skills.
Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Capable of performing the physical job requirements with the ability to lift 50lbs. and consistently reach, bend, sit, stand, climb.
Reliable, punctual and a positive team player who is adaptable, open minded, enthusiastic and takes inititive.
Previous knowledge and experience with 5S and Lean Manufacturing considered and asset.
