Carte International is rapidly expanding and actively searching for Journeyman/women Millwrights to join our highly motivated team. The Millwright is responsible for equipment maintenance, corrective maintenance, maintenance & repair, preventive maintenance, trouble shooting problems, assisting in machine upgrades and capital projects, and industrial maintenance tasks on a day-to-day basis.
The successful candidate will have prior experience working in a manufacturing facility both independently and in a team -setting.
To be successful you will need:
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a Millwright with Interprovincial License.
- Must have completed apprenticeship training or equivalent and be qualified as a Millwright with an Interprovincial Red Seal.
- Possess a valid Manitoba drivers license.
- Experience with routine maintenance operations (preventative, corrective, restorative, Industrial Maintenance).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a busy environment.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
What you will Do:
The Millwright will maintain all equipment to required standards, be responsive to line calls, provide support for preventative and failure-based maintenance as required by the facility needs. Install and maintain equipment and machinery using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools and power tools.
- Conduct routine inspections, perform preventative maintenance, repair, trouble shoot, install and maintain equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance according to PM Schedule.
- Keep detailed and accurate reports and documentation.
- Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Perform welding and flame cutting operations applicable to MIG, stick< oxy-acetylene, and plasma cutting.
- Perform metal fabrication operations including layout, drilling, tapping, sawing and grinding. Perform welding.
- Perform work at heights using scissor lift, articulated lift and ladders.
- Work during scheduled shutdown, shift work and overtime to accommodate scheduled maintenance.
- Recommends changes, modifications or up-grades of equipment to improve machine reliability and performance.
- Demonstrates a strong team member attitude with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be on call on weekends on a rotational basis and must report in a reasonable time if called back to work.
LEADERSHIP:
- Strong leadership skills.
- Lead the Millwright Apprenticeship program.
- Lead and participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives in the plant.
- Mentors and are authorized to sign off apprentices within the company.
- Mentors and trains junior workers to develop trade related skills.
- Leads laborer’s and resources as required for a specific task.
