Carte International has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, independent, and motivated Quality Assurance Representative to join our team in Quality Assurance. As a team member, you will participate in team efforts to achieve department goals, complete tasks on time and according to customers specifications.
The Quality Assurance Representative is responsible for evaluating and monitoring the quality of products and services to ensure they meet the established standards set by the company and regulatory bodies. This role involves a combination of inspecting, testing, and evaluating production processes, as well as implementing corrective actions and improvements. As a Quality Assurance Representative, you will work closely with various departments to identify areas of improvement and ensure consistent quality throughout the production cycle. Your role is pivotal in maintaining our reputation for high-quality offerings and customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform, and report on physical inspections and tests on transformers at all stages of manufacturing.
- Follow up on corrective actions with appropriate personnel (ex: design, purchasing, production).
- Conduct and report on Internal Quality audits.
- Perform, record, and communicate supplier or subcontractor assessments on-site audits, of products and processes.
- Perform receiving inspection on materials and components received at Carte.
- Communicate and coordinate with vendors, design, purchasing on non-conformances and corrective actions.
- Create reports for submission to suppliers (ex: Quality Alert).
- Complete and control quality records.
- Design, prepare, and implement quality and technical forms and documentation.
- Test, calibrate and monitor electrical and mechanical equipment (controlled in the Carte Calibration database) used in transformer manufacture and transformer performance verification.
- Participate or facilitate in corrective actions.
- Act as technical liaison during visits by auditors, sub-contractors and customers or during field service trips outside the operation.
- Communicate with Management regarding improvements, or concerns in the manufacturing process.
- Participate in Lean manufacturing.
- Coach or train other QA representatives where needed.
- General promotion of quality, health, safety and environmental excellence at Carte.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in quality and/or in manufacturing environment.
- Grade 12 High School diploma or higher.
- Drawing and blueprint reading
- ISO Internal Auditor experience or certificate.
- WHMIS certificate or knowledge.
- Experience in Lean.
COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to use measuring tools such as micrometers, vernier calipers, tape measures, depth gauges, etc.
- Word processing, spreadsheet/excel, email software skills. Experience keying data.
- Effective communication skills, including providing instructions to and coaching others.
- Planning and completion of work or projects in a timely manner. Report writing.
- Problem solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks/projects at one time.
- Use of Lean tools into work activities.
- Able and willing to work on different shifts (day, afternoon, midnight) on rotational basis.
