Manufacturing Stores Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manufacturing Stores Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Stores Receiving Department. The Stores Manager, is responsible for the timely and accurate receipt of all incoming deliveries to the facility. Ensure items are verified for quantity and quality and placed in specified areas of the facility. Ensure that our production team has the required inventory for production when needed to satisfy customer requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

Manage and supervise all stores employees, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.

Lead, develop and direct the Stores material handling team to deliver unparalleled customer service.

Maintain high levels of accuracy in daily operations.

Coordinate the flow of parts/materials from initial receipt through warehousing stages through dispatch in support of the production team.

Manage the day to day flow of work in the area, and provide work assignments to staff based on organizational requirements.

Provide proper training, coaching, constructive feedback (counseling) and progressive discipline.

Perform essential HR functions as team leadership, employee development, corrective action and performance evaluations.

Manage employees by addressing complaints and resolving issues.

Provide leadership to the team to build and sustain employee engagement.

Train staff in accordance with company policy and legislative requirements.

Monitor the performance and progress of staff.

Ensure computerized inventory control system is maintained for stock levels, order processing, issuing of parts, and kept up to date for stock control.

Participate in and support Lean manufacturing, implementing continuous improvement processes.

Manage health, safety, quality and environmental systems according to company policy and applicable legislation.

Monitor and resolve work place safety issues to provide a safe work environment for all employees.

Ensure stock outages/shortages are communicated to purchasing and production departments in a timely fashion.

Ensure parts/materials are stored securely and safely as well as transported safely through the plant.

Liase with other departments to ensure proper information and material flow.

Monitor, report and investigate damaged shipments/parts, perform root cause analysis for the damaged shipments/parts.

Identify actual or potential issues and recommend action to remedy issues.

Monitor stock rotation (FIFO).

Manage upkeep and condition of vehicles, fixtures and equipment.

Manage 5/24 operations

Qualifications and Experience:

5 Years experience in a manufacturing warehouse environment.

3 years experience in a managerial/supervisor role.

People management skills (leading at least 8 people) and team building skills.

Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience a plus.

Detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks.

Good communication skills and strong problem solving skills.

Must be able to work with all levels within the organization.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing desired.

Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team

Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written

Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
